Training in Clermont

Do you want to come train for a week? Or do you just have a day to get away from the Orlando parks to enjoy the Triathletes Playground?

The focal point of Clermont athletics is the National Training Center. This USAT certified facility has an outdoor Olympic sized pool, rubberized track, experts physiologists to test VO2max, swim, run or bike analysis, strength functions. You can also start a run or ride from the NTC on the 27 mile long paved pedestrian trail. Our store is located inside the NTC, so a visit to be introduced is a must!

There are hotels near the NTC - Fairfield by Marriott and the Hampton Inn. If you are looking to stay longer and would like the option of a kitchen there are several options. A local realtor has built a duplex overlooking the lake and the pedestrian trail and is open to renting for weeks or months, contact Diane Travis. There is also Vacation Village

Every Saturday there is a FREE timed 5k run on the pedestrian trail starting from Clermont Boat House. To sign up for the 5k go to

There are rides that start from any one of the bike stores in the area: South Lake Bike & Tri, Clermont Bicycles, Epic Cycles, Winter Garden Wheelworks There are also ride maps on , Map My Ride, and Florida Freewheelers

For running there is the 27 mile long paved pedestrian trail that runs beside the lake and into the hills. There is also the favorite Orange Grove/Clay Road/Dirt Road 10 mile loop-there isn't a website for this except- If you are out there on the right morning you might see hot air balloons taking off or some fun wild animals.

Across the street from the 10 mile dirt road is Lake Louisa State Park. It is also a great, traffic free, place to train. It also has camping sites, RV hook up and furnished cabins. The‎ also kicks off the Triathlon season in this park. And it is a great race for spectating the pros because it is one of the only draft legal races in the US.
