What’s your Reason to Tri?!

While most of you have already done a triathlon, I believe it serves purpose to refresh our ideals & values as to why be swim, bike, & run; why we triathlon!

And if you haven't participated in a triathlon, I encourage you to read this article & take the jump into your new sport; you too will soon be hooked!

I would like to go through some of my own reasons why I personally do triathlon in hopes that it might also motivate you.

Do wetsuits help the Florida Triathlete?

In the early 1990’s, the use of the wetsuit emerged as a source of controversy in the sport of triathlon. Originally, the wetsuit was introduced to our sport as a safety tool to help the triathlete survive cold waters and prevent hypothermia during a frigid swimming portion of the race.

Bike and Ride Safe

Rarely do I talk about the cycling aspect of triathlon. For the most part, I let our Local Bike Shop (LBS) neighbors do that as we have five or so competent bike shops in the Clermont area. At Gear for Multisport, we focus on the swim and run pretty well.

Off-Season Time

Every year when I watch the Hawaii Ironman netcast, I get that end of the season feeling. The leaves are falling off the trees on the Minneola Trail & the heat has left Central Florida. Many of us reflect on our performances this year and start preparing for next season.

Get Ready for Summer!
